Spring is [almost] here and Easter is just around the corner. We are pleased to announce that Matt Ryan will guest teach at our shala again for a couple of days during the Easter holidays. You can practice with Matt for no extra cost at two morning Mysore classes while he’s visiting family in Sweden. Monthly and clip cards apply and you do not need to book the class in advance. Don’t miss the opportunity to practice with an experienced international teacher and get some extra advice for your personal practice. Keep in mind that we have special opening hours on public holidays – the Easter opening hours are listed in this newsletter while other temporary changes are to be found on the schedule page.

We’d also like to remind you that we teach a guided Primary Series class twice a month (one Friday and one Sunday). Isabella guides the class in Sanskrit and English. You do not have to master the entire Primary series to participate but please note that the class is not suitable for complete beginners. The next guided class is on Sunday, 10th April. Afterwards we gather for "Tea & Talk" where we discuss a yogic theme over a cup of tea and homemade porridge. Next session’s topic is "the 8 limbs of Ashtanga". It’s a great way to learn some of the philosophy behind the Ashtanga yoga practice and to ask questions. If you can’t make it to the guided class, you are of course welcome to join the "Tea & Talk" after anyway.

- ASHTANGA FOUNDATION COURSE intensive – a short course of 5 weeks starting Monday 25/4 with Isabella. In May, a similar course with Helena launches on Saturday mornings starting 14/5. Information about all our foundation courses is available here

- YIN YOGA & Meditation with Miho returns with a new course starting on 26/4. During 8 Tuesday evenings you can enjoy this calmer type of yoga and mindfulness practice. This course is, unlike previously, taught in English. As before, existing members can participate with their monthly/klippcards but pre-registration with our partner Medborgarskolan  is required for everyone More info here

- ASHTANGA FOUNDATION  level 2 course with Helena (mixed guided class and Mysore style) continues on Thursday evenings. As of 5/5 the course/class runs for another 8 weeks. You can sign up for the entire course and our existing members may attend  with their monthly/klippcards. Pre-registration is required for everyone and is done via our partner Medborgarskolan. More info here

- FRIDAY FUN takes place on 13/5 with Isabella. The theme of the class is "From downward dog to headstand". We focus on the stability and strength needed to perform everything from basic to more advanced inversions and arm balances (not handstand). Read more and sign up here.

On 10-15th July we finally return to the island of Kadermo in the Finnish archipelago after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. Isabella teaches a week-long yoga retreat at Kadermo Conscious Living with morning and evening yoga class, vegetarian food, Finnish sauna and more - all in an eco/sustainable setting. At Kadermo, you get a break from everyday stress and a chance to recover in a calm and idyllic environment as well as the opportunity to immerse yourself in your yoga practice. Kadermo is magic and has to be experienced, so do not hesitate - join us now! Read more about yoga week on our events page.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the many people who consequently have had to take refuge from the war in Sweden, we have decided to lend our premises to a Ukrainian yoga teacher for a "refugee yoga class". On Wednesday 13/4 at 16-17, Milana will teach a hatha yoga class in Ukrainian language for refugees who have ended up in our part of Skåne. If you know anyone who would like (or need) to participate, please ask them to contact us. Feel free to share this information with colleagues, friends and family.

That’s all for now, more info about the summer schedule will be shared in our June newsletter. Stay up to date in between letters by following us on social media (links in the menu above). If you are not a member of our private Facebook group, we recommend that you apply to get access to the latest news and updates at short notice. Keep in mind that if you have not visited the shala for a while, we may have changed the door code so please get in touch well in advance of your planned visit to get the new one. Should you have any questions, you are of course always welcome to email us.

Happy Easter! See you on the yoga mat!
