Venue: Ashtanga Yoga Malmö
This course is suitable for those who have already taken a beginner's foundation course (level 1) in Ashtanga yoga with us or at another yoga school. It is also suitable for practitioners who wish to practice a mix of guided class and mysore style with a slower pace and want more time to go through certain postures. We further recommend this course to people who have previously practiced Ashtanga but have taken a break and need to refresh their memory.
At each session, you are guided through all or part of the standing sequence of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series, after which you get a chance to continue to practice at your own pace under the watch of the teacher. Focus is on breathing correctly in coordination with movement, dristhi (focus) and bandha (body locks). The pace is slower than a traditionally guided class and the teacher may demonstrate certain postures if needed. You also get a chance to practice and repeat on your own to get used to the mysore style format. The purpose of the course is for participants to learn the proper vinyasa and breath count, remember the sequence and become more independent in their yoga practice.
Attendees should have taken an Ashtanga yoga beginner's foundation level 1 course before signing up.
