DETAILED PROGRAMME:
Fri 21/8, 17-19 (2 hours): Lecture (interactive): Body, Breath & Patanjali
Shed light on the connection between the physical practice and the deep philosophy presented in the Yoga Sutras. Learn how the physical practice of asana embodies Patanjali's sacred principles and teaches every yoga student how to integrate the practice with our daily lives. Begin with a classic pranayama technique as the catalyst to spark a direct experience of how yoga works. Join this class for a rare opportunity to uncover the inner teachings of who we are and how we function as individuals in yoga, on and off the mat. All levels welcome.
Sat 22/8, 8-11: Mysore style Class (two shifts depending on the size of the group).
Named after the city where Krishnamacharya and Pattabhi Jois developed their yoga method, this is the classic way Ashtanga Yoga is taught. A melting pot of yoga practitioners of all levels from beginner to experienced, this class sets out to offer personalised guidance to each practitioner at exactly where you need it most. Build a relationship with yourself, your practice and your teacher in this inspiring energy.
Sat 22/8, 13:30-16.15 (2 hours + 45min): Hips, Hamstrings & Forward Bends – The Flexibility to Unlock Moola Dhara followed by Q&A
Finding your hips and legs are the first step towards unlocking your pelvis and finding the pelvic locks. Establishing this foundation, we can begin to free our spine and let energy flow to and from its rightful destinations in your body. Through partner & individual work you will learn how to safely prepare your hamstrings for more difficult asanas. We will also address how to open our hip joints to maintain healthy knees, increase spine mobility, find deeper levels of comfort, asana ability and self-knowledge while keeping your practice injury free and graceful. The class ends with a 45min Q&A – bring your questions!
Sun 23/8, 8-11: Mysore style Class (two shifts depending on the size of the group).

In this workshop you will learn practical tools to carry weight on your arms and turn upside down with stability, tranquillity and grace. You will gain a thorough understanding of the anatomical patterns at play in your body while on your hands and elbows. Subtle muscle mechanics helps us integrate our arms into our torso, core and hip to create a solid platform for accessible and successful strength work. We will play with simple to advanced asanas and you will leave this class with a refreshed perspective on your capacity for strength work in your practice. All levels welcome.
