Venue: Ashtanga Yoga Malmö
The course is suitable for those who have already taken a beginner's foundation course in Ashtanga yoga with us or at another yoga school, and who wish to continue within a guided class format instead of, or in parallel with, Mysore classes. It is also suitable for practitioners who wish to practice guided class with a slower pace and want more time to go through certain postures. The course is also recommended to people who have previously practiced Ashtanga but have taken a break and need to refresh their memory.
At each session, you are guided through all or part of the standing sequence of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series. Then you get a chance to continue the practice at your own pace under the guidance of the teacher. Focus is on breathing correctly in coordination with movement and bandha (body locks). The pace is slower than a traditionally guided class and the teacher may demonstrate certain postures if needed. You also get a chance to practice in your own pace, so-called mysore style. The purpose of the course is for the participants to learn the proper vinyasa and breath count, remember the sequence and become more independent in their yoga practice.
Attendees should have taken an Ashtanga yoga beginner's foundation course before signing up.
