Our popular intro-session to Ashtanga yoga for beginners returns in the summer of 2022. On Monday 15/8 at 17:15-18:45 you have the opportunity to try Ashtanga yoga in a special introductory format. Following the class you are offered the unique chance to practice at all our mysore classes for no extra cost during two weeks (read more below).
The introductory session provides you with a brief insight into the basics of Ashtanga yoga. It targets those who have never tried yoga before, but is also suitable for people who have practiced other types of yoga and who want to learn the special method of Ashtanga. The main focus of the class is to make the participants become acquainted with their own breath and learn how to synchronize breath and movement (so-called vinyasa krama) through the practice of Sun Salutation A + B. Participants also get a short description of the background and philosophy of yoga, some health benefits for body and mind as well as practical advice on how to get started with a regular practice.
All participants are offered two weeks of complementary mysore classes immediately after the introduction (*offer only available for new members). Mysore style class is the way Ashtanga yoga traditionally is practiced - read more about this under class descriptions

The class is offered in partnership with Medborgarskolan. Pre-registration is required and done through Medborgarskolan (click the link). We have an age limit of 16 years and participants under 18 need the approval of their guardian.
