Date: 2021-12-10 17:30 - 18:45

Venue: Ashtanga Yoga Malmö

The practice of yoga involves more than just doing postures on the yoga mat. Seva - which means selfless action - is also an important part of the practice. Ashtanga Yoga Malmö would like to end the year in the spirit of giving and perform our annual 108 sun salutations in support of the organization V-Care in Mysore, India.

Ashtanga Yoga Malmö has in collaboration with Yogashala Stockholm, supported V-Care in Mysore, India for several years. V-Care works for social change, strengthening girls' and children's rights and giving children from the untouchable groups education and a better future. You can read more about V-Care and about Seva here

According to what has become tradition, we do 108 sun salutations and raise funds for V-Care. Performing 108 sun salutations has a special meaning and is often done as part of a ceremony. It takes about 50 minutes in total but it is optional to do all 108 or just a few. You can invite a partner and do half each as a team, bring the family and share the sun salutations amongst you or challenge yourself to do them all. The class is also broadcast via Zoom for people who would like to take past but can't attend on site in Malmö.
